Featured at the end of Unter den Linden, a main street of eastern Berlin, is the Brandenburg Gate, which is the only remaining of 14 gates built in the 1700s. Beyond the Brandenburg Gate is Tiergarten, a beautiful 630-acre park. To the right of Brandenburg Gate is the Reichstag which houses Germanys federal Parliament. In the lower center of the panorama with its enormous copper dome is the Berlin Cathedral, an impressive 19th-century cathedral. Left of the cathedral is Palast de Republic, the parliament building of the former Socialist East Germany.
